Overview

The Eco Grants Program is intended to fund projects that support the growth of the Eco currency and protocol. New to Eco? Learn about the project at eco.org

There are two ways to receive funding from Eco:

✏️ RFP Grants & Bounties [funded by the Eco Association]

💡 Governance Proposals [funded by the Protocol Treasury]

Details around each are below.

✏️ RFP Grants & Bounties

The Eco Association, from time to time, will issue RFPs or Bounties for specific projects it would like to see built. These will be funded from the Association’s treasury.

We’re intentionally starting small—just three select projects—with the objective of nailing down & iterating on the process and expanding this program in the future.

💡 Governance Proposals

Anyone can request funding from the Protocol Treasury, controlled by Community Governance, for an idea they’d like to pursue.

To do this, one must submit a proposal through the Eco community governance process:
1. Create a post at forums.eco.org under “Protocol Discussion and Ideas” with the proposal to gain community input. The proposal should include an overview of the project, how it supports the protocol, and a rationale for the funds being requested . See prior proposals below for inspiration.
2. Once you can point to having received positive feedback from community members on your proposal, submit the proposal on-chain at https://governance.eco.org/proposals
3. Once the proposal has been submitted on-chain, move the original forum post out of “Protocol Discussion and Ideas” and into the “Eco Governance Proposals” category. At this point, you should assign it a number (e.g., EGP #012) in the title, which is one number higher than whatever the last proposal shows.
